Coping with death is never easy. Coping with your own death, especially so.
Gwen is dead. But her problems only just begin there. The afterlife is not at all what she expected, and involves far more paperwork than she is prepared for. Everything feels dead wrong. Guided by volunteer grim reapers, the sanguine Masters, and the phlegmatic Lilac, she attempts to come to terms with her own mortality–even if it is after the fact.
Between meeting fellow deceased such as a King, a suffragette in life, Carrington, a physicist-turned-gravedigger, and some even less scrupulous individuals, she begins to face questions harder than she was at first prepared for.
When you’re dead, do right and wrong still mean the same? Who’s keeping a secret–or rather, who’s keeping the biggest secret? What happens next? And how exactly did she die?
